Jain Religion App for Android
An Android companion for Jain families: daily Panchang and pachkhan timings, 850+ temples and 140+ dharamshalas, a 1,000-question quiz with certificates and 180+ free vidhan PDFs.
The brief
Jain families check the tithi and pachkhan timings every day, look up temples and dharamshalas when they travel, and use vidhan books for pujan, usually spread across printed calendars, PDFs and WhatsApp forwards. The Jain Religion website had the content; the brief was to put the daily essentials in one fast, free app.
What we built
We built the app on the content and community of thejainreligion.in. The home screen opens on today's Jain Panchang: tithi, paksha, Vikram Samvat and Vir Samvat, with pachkhan timings for the user's city and a live countdown to the next one. A month calendar marks kalyanaks, parvas, Purnima and shubh days, for both the Shwetambar and Digambar traditions.
The temple finder covers 850+ Jain temples and 140+ dharamshalas with timings, stay information and Google Maps directions. The Jain Gyan Yatra quiz has 1,000+ questions across four levels, daily streaks and a shareable certificate, and the library holds 180+ vidhan, pujan and granth books as free PDFs. The app is free and has no ads.
